Common questions
Which files can Liber open?
Books in EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2 and TXT, and comics in CBZ, CBR (RAR4) and CB7. Books with DRM, such as many bought from Kindle or other stores, can't be opened. Liber tells you when a file has DRM.
How do I add books?
Tap + in the Library and choose files from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or any other files app. You can also open a file "with Liber" or share it to Liber from another app. With Premium, Liber can watch a folder and add new books by itself.
Where are my books and notes stored?
On your device, in Liber's private storage. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you connect a cloud service of your own. See the privacy policy.
How do I move to a new device?
Use Settings → Backup & restore to save a backup file and open it on the new device, or connect the same cloud service on both devices to keep them in step (Premium). Backups hold your reading history, highlights, notes and settings. Add your book files again and they're matched with their history.
Why doesn't Liber see the books in my Google Drive?
Liber only asks Google for permission to see the files it creates itself, so it can't look around your Drive. To add a book from Drive, tap + in the Library and choose Drive in the file picker. With Dropbox or WebDAV, you can put books in Liber's Books folder instead and have them added automatically.
I bought Premium. How do I get it on another device?
Sign in to the same Google account in the Play Store, then open Settings → Liber Premium → Restore purchases. Premium is a one-time purchase that stays with your Google account.
Does Liber work on e-ink readers?
Yes, on Android e-ink devices with the Play Store. Turn on Settings → E-ink mode for black and white with no animations and page turns with the volume buttons.
